A STATE OF EMERGENCY IN YOBE, ADAMAWA AND BURNO

A state of emergency has been declared in three States in the North eastern part of Nigeria with the hope that it will enable the Federal Government put to an end, the carnage and destruction of  lives and property in these once-peaceful-States of the Country.

Earlier attempts at peaceful resolution of the sectarian upraising in this region was met with stiff rejection and escalation of the crises which, in some quarters, is suspected to have religious and political undertones. The unfortunate truth in this theater of the absurd is the death of innocent children and Women who really don't know what the real issues are.

Nigeria has had its fair share of sectarian crises starting from the Maitatsine wars of the eighties in Kano and Maiduguri to the recent Boko Haram/ JAMBs. The Federal and State authorities, in each of these occasions have always shown their ineptitude in handling these Nation breaking disasters.

The first thing that comes to mind, is the trivialization of the subject and imputing the religious and political connotations thereby polluting and polarizing the polity simply to hoodwink the system into convulation.
It will be most simplistic to conclude that the issues can be resolved with a simple declaration of a-state-of-emergency. Far from it. The issues at stake are far more horrendous than we think. It predates the amalgamation of Nigeria and touches on the most profound philosophical foundations of tradition, religious and political developments within a regional sphere.

The political history of Nigeria is replete with the subjects of balkanization, colonization, amalgamation, the obliteration of the essential cultural structure of its people and the deliberate infusion albeit destructively, a system of Governance alien to it. What do these negativities add up to? Within the oddities involved in the birth of Nigeria, one thing stands out. Confusion. A very deliberate confusion imposed with the sole purpose of controlling the divers elements that make up the Nation through subterfuge.

Lies and propaganda

I just found out that propaganda is killing the world slowly but steadily. Why must man tell a lie to exist in the comity of Nations and stand back to criticize others for the same offense? The world has lived a lie from the beginning. Self deception is a form of delusion and has catastrophic consequences. We are witnessing the outcomes of our lies over the centuries past. The wars being fought around the world today are products of these lies. SAD!'!!!!!!!!!!!!!
